Arctic to Africa 2017 – 2019

Arctic to Africa on a bicycle! What a challenge, four and a half thousand miles cycling from Nordkapp the most northern point in Europe through the continent and into Africa finishing in Casablanca in the summer of 2019. There are five riders who are completing this challenge, in three two-week phases over a period of three years.

As in previous cycling challenges, we are using this opportunity to raise money for a worthy charity Alzheimer Research UK! A charity very close to a lot of the riders hearts.

The challenge began at Midnight 18th of June 2017 in Nordkapp, where we finished the first stage two weeks later in Gothenburg.

Starting in Gothenburg, phase 2 of the trip will begin in August 2018, finishing in Monaco.

The plans are in place; the training is well under way; the fundraising is going well and we are ready to set off for phase 2 of the Trip!

As part of our fundraising efforts for Alzheimer’s Research UK, we have created The Great Nidd Bike Ride.

This event is a chance for you to do something in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK. Taking place in September each year, the Great Nidd Bike Ride takes place in North Yorkshire, starting and finishing at Birstwith (Near Harrogate); following the River Nidd going through various Nidderdale villages such as Summerbridge, Pateley Bridge, Lofthouse, Fearby (Near Masham), Kirby Malzard and Studley Roger.

For those of you who don’t want to take part in the bike ride (and those who have!), we also host a Ball on the same evening. Again, this is all in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK and includes a meal and entertainment from a live band.
